A vegan poultry-flavored oven roasted cauliflower steaks make for a delicious main dish for the holidays or any other entertaining occasion! These Kick’n Chick’n Roasted Cauliflower Steaks are so easy to make, with a spicy kick, and only require 5 simple ingredients.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this meal! The cauliflower was so flavorful, and normally I am not a spicy fan, but the mild kick from the Kick’n Chick’n seasoning I used was the perfect touch to these crispy golden cauliflower steaks. I served these steaks with my Easy Dairy-Free Mashed Potatoes and it was the perfect plant-based dinner.

The Ingredients

These easy cauliflower steaks are made with just 5 ingredients:

Cauliflower. You will need 1 large head of cauliflower for this recipe. You should be able to get 2 thick slices of cauliflower/cauliflower steaks from one head of cauliflower. If you want more, just buy another head of cauliflower and adjust the marinade (double it).

Poultry seasoning. For this recipe you will need 1 tablespoon gluten-free poultry seasoning. I used Weber Kick’n Chicken Seasoning, which is a pretty common seasoning, but if you can’t find it feel free to use your favorite, preferably gluten-free and vegan.

Soy Sauce. This recipe calls for 1 teaspoon gluten-free soy sauce. You may also use liquid aminos or tamari soy sauce.

Olive oil. The ¼ cup olive oil needed in this recipe is combined with the poultry seasoning and soy sauce to create the marinade. It also helps the cauliflower steaks to crisp up and brown.

Breadcrumbs. You will need 2 tablespoons gluten-free breadcrumbs, you can choose to use Italian breadcrumbs or regular.

How to Make These Cauliflower Steaks

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.

Carefully trim the outer leaves, leaving the stem intact – this helps keep the cauliflower steak stay together. Slice directly through the middle of the cauliflower head. Carefully cut 1-1 ½ inch thick slices. You should be able to get 2 large steaks out of a head of cauliflower.

Gently place the cauliflower slices onto a foil-lined baking sheet.

Whisk together the olive oil, poultry seasoning, and soy sauce until well combined, and then generously brush half of the marinade over the cauliflower steaks (reserving the other half for the other side when you flip them).

Sprinkle with breadcrumbs (using about ½ tablespoon per steak per side). Bake in the oven for 13-15 minutes, until the cauliflower is starting to brown.

Carefully flip each cauliflower steak, brush the rest of the marinade over the other sides, sprinkle with more breadcrumbs and then place back in the oven for another 8-10 minutes.
